I can't wait to open in a week! Update from Boston Theater Company:
"We couldn't be more thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with the Citi Performing Arts Center to bring FINISH LINE to Boston! As a hub for New England's performing arts, we are incredibly honored to work with this iconic institution as we create our first developmental production this April before our world premiere in 2017 in association with the Citi Performing Arts Center! Tickets are on sale now for our April 7th - April 23rd developmental run, which will coincide with the 3rd anniversary of the Marathon and trust us, you won't want to miss out on this incredible work in progress!" I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing play, "Holy Laughter" by Catherine Trieschmann…it is hilarious, heart-warming, poignant, poetic and just simply BEAUTIFUL! Check out some shout outs we've had lately in Broadway World and The Westfield News and then come see this wonderful play :)! "Holy Laughter by Catherine Trieschmann is a poignant comedy that follows Abigail, an Episcopal priest who finds that the reality of leading a church is radically and hilariously different than what she learned in seminary. Hymns, liturgical dance and a wicked tongue lift this antic portrait of a small, struggling congregation to comic heights. All events and performances will be held at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center at 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield." (Broadway World) "Catherine Trieschmann’s comedy Holy Laughter gets a Fall production (October 29-November 22 at Pittsfield’s Barrington Stage’s Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center). Directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian, it’s the story of an Episcopal priest who must adapt her lessons from seminary to deal with her ever-changing congregation." (The Westfield News) My friend and fellow actor, Jeff Wolf Zinn just wrote an amazing book called "The Existential Actor", check it out! Also, I am in it! (See below…)
This past week, I performed in a reading of "Finish Line" with Boston Theater Company. "Finish Line" is a documentary theater piece based on the Boston Marathon Bombings. It was a powerful, thoughtful piece dedicated to telling stories of unsung heroes and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it. <3
On July 23rd, I performed with Sleeping Weazel in their back porch blues play "In the Wake of the Graybow Riots" in Sharon, MA and it was a dream…I got to sing with so many talented musicians and tell a powerful story of family, missing persons, motherhood and loss. Additionally, I am now a Bridge Rep Artistic Associate and I can't wait to work for this company I love so much! For the last three weeks of August, I will be performing in "The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship" with WHAT4kids, a summer classic! I am thrilled to be playing Abigail in "Holy Laughter" this fall with WAM Theatre. Check out this article in Broadway World!
Below are some photos from the reading of Liana Asim's play "Slut Walk: Or a Play About Marilyn Monroe"! Up next, a workshop directed by Shana Gozansky and produced by Sleeping Weazel. Stay tuned... Performing "The Voices of We" was an incredibly fulfilling, powerful experience! Check out the review on my review page. Up next, I will be doing a reading of "Slut Walk: Or A Play About Marilyn Monroe" written by my friend and former cast member Liana Asim.
